Exhaust Leaks & Replacement

An exhaust leak isn't a noise problem. It's a safety problem.

Exhaust leak diagnosis, component repair and full system replacement — protecting cabin air quality, engine performance and everyone riding with you.

Why It Matters

Carbon Monoxide Doesn't Announce Itself

On an RV, an exhaust leak is fundamentally more dangerous than on a car — because people live inside the vehicle. Exhaust gas that finds its way into a living space through a floor penetration, a compartment seam, or an open window while the generator runs is genuinely life-threatening.

Beyond the safety issue, leaks upstream of a diesel's sensors confuse the emissions system, trigger derates, and hurt performance and economy. And on a rear-engine diesel pusher, exhaust heat escaping where it shouldn't can cook wiring and components in a very expensive neighborhood.

  • Full exhaust system inspection from manifold to tailpipe
  • Leak location using pressure and smoke testing methods
  • Manifold, gasket, flange and clamp repair or replacement
  • Muffler, resonator and pipe section replacement
  • Hanger and mount repair — the usual failure point on coach exhausts
  • Heat shield inspection and repair
  • Generator exhaust inspection, which is where CO problems most often start

Warning Signs

Symptoms Worth Acting On

Exhaust Smell Inside

Any exhaust odor in the cabin or living area is an immediate, non-negotiable reason to come in.

New Noise

A ticking on startup, a deeper rumble, or a rasp under load usually means a leak that just opened up.

Power or Economy Loss

Leaks upstream of sensors confuse the engine's fueling and can trigger derates on modern diesels.
